I am 39 weeks pregnant while writing this and thought it might be fun to share some of the products I have really enjoyed over the past 9 months. I think each was a good investment from a budget standpoint and made life a little bit more comfortable or enjoyable.
Belly Bandit (Upsie Belly) – I started experiencing pretty bad back pain around 29 weeks, and bought the Belly Bandit (Upsie Belly) per a friend’s recommendation. This product has really been a life saver to me. It is basically an adjustable belt that fits right under your growing belly and relieves the inevitable pressure on your back. I have been wearing mine right under my work clothes and my weekend getups. I do opt to take it off when doing yoga (it feels a bit too constricting) and also when I’ve worn nicer dresses as is does show under form fitting clothing. In my last few weeks of pregnancy I have worn it less as it is just too much pressure on my belly and bladder, but I still highly recommend it as an overall great product for any mom-to-be.
Snoogle: This. Pillow. Is. Amazing. Sleeping during pregnancy gets uncomfortable pretty quickly (or at least it did for me), and this pillow helped me get better rest from the first night I used it. You can use it many different ways, but the gist is it supports your neck, belly, back and knees all in one pillow. I’ve been using this since very early on in pregnancy and am so happy I got it when I did. I honestly think this pillow would be great for anyone with hip or knee issues, even if they aren’t pregnant!
Naturemade Prenatal – Multi + DHA – I wasn’t taking this particular vitamin at the beginning of my pregnancy, but after my doctor’s recommendation of making sure my prenatal had DHA in it, I switched to these. DHA/Omega 3 Fatty Acids from fish oil are important for fetal brain and eye development, so it was an easy decision for me to look for a new multivitamin that included it. This pill is an easy to swallow capsule (instead of a chalky tablet!), and you only have to take one a day, which is nice. I also appreciate that this product has no color added, no artificial flavors, no yeast, no starch and is gluten free. Also important – the product is well-priced and easy to find at a local grocery or drug store.
Fushcia Floral Fitted Maternity Dress from Pink Blush Maternity – This is an adorable maternity website that I recommend every expectant mother take some time to look around. I bought the dress below from the site, and it has been on of my favorite things I’ve worn while pregnant. I love the bright colors! The material is very stretchy, but still looks really nice. It is hand wash only, which isn’t ideal, but since it’s a bit more of a special occasion dress, I think it’s worth it. After using a coupon code, I was able to get this dress for under $50 shipped!
The site seems to advertise coupon codes regularly, so be sure to look for one when shopping. They can usually be found in a banner add at the top of the page. Right now they are offering free shipping and 20% off all orders site wide with code TAKE20PB, but even if that one is no longer running, I doubt it will be long before another is being marketed in its place.
