Earlier this summer we went to Cinnamon Shore with a group of 18 of our college friends and their kids. I shared some photos on Instagram, but also wanted to share our experience and tips in a blog post. Find my Cinnamon Shore story highlight for an in-depth insight into our long weekend at the beach!
Where is Cinnamon Shore?
Cinnamon Shore is a beachside community on the Texas Gulf Coast, just around four hours from Houston, in Port Aransas. The address is 5009 Highway 361. Port Aransas, TX 78373 if you want to map it! There are two sections of the community, North and South. We stayed in Cinnamon Shore South, which is the newer community and still under construction. The North has more to offer as far as amenities since it is more built up. Click here for all the dining options! The two sides of Cinnamon Shores are about a mile and a half from each other, accessible by golf cart or car. I will note that this is further than I expected, so you definitely want to plan ahead if you plan to visit the other side of the community.
On the south side where we stayed, there were multiple family pools, an adult pool, a splash pad and a playground. One of the pools has a full bar. We had a green space right in front of our house where we played bocce ball (a big hit for both kids and adults). There was also corn hole and ladder golf provided by Cinnamon Shore.
Tips for Visiting Cinnamon Shore, TX
My number one tip if you plan to visit is to book early, 9-12 months in advance! By the time we looked to book, options were limited for a group of our size and extremely limited on the northern, more established side. We did love the house we found though!
Book a golf cart! You can drive them around the community and even straight onto the beach. You can book golf carts on their website. I’d consider this a must unless you have a house *very* close to the beach and also a pool.
Cinnamon Shore also has a chair and umbrella service that you can book through their website. We weren’t able to take advantage since the tide was too high while we were there, but I would recommend using them especially if you are traveling with a large group or kids. Even if you do book the service, I would still recommend putting some beach or tailgating chairs in your car. We were so happy we had ours!
There are restaurant options on the North side (and most likely the South side once it’s all built out), but we actually just had all our meals at the house. With 10 kids in our group, we found that to be the easiest and most cost effective.
My Cinnamon Shore Review
Overall, Cinnamon Shore is a vibe! The homes are all gorgeous and relatively new. The community itself is adorable and really feels like vacation. It reminds me so much of 30A/Seaside. On that note, I do think it is important to remember it’s a Texas beach! The water and sand are just not comparable to that of Florida if that is what you are used to.
