The websites below are some of my favorites for finding great deals online. I have saved so much money by checking these sites somewhat regularly and acting quickly when deals that are relevant to me present themselves. It’s basically like having a personal shopper does all the leg work for you! They each post content constantly throughout the day and give detailed instructions on how to score the best deal at different retailers.
This is my #1 favorite site! The woman who created the site, Collin, is absolutely adorable. She does a lot of live videos of the best deals going on that certain week and has the cutest personality. I think the site is easy to navigate, and they tend to feature the most items that I am interested in. I would say I have saved the most from this website!
This site is very similar to Hip2Save. They post deals constantly throughout the day and also share a lot of deal-saving stories like 19 Things Every Shopper Should Know about Trader Joes or 30 Brilliant Budget Family VacationTips and Tricks. I do think this site is a little more cluttered than Hip2Save, but it has some great content that I really enjoy.
This was one of the first sites I found when I started getting into researching money-saving content online, and I still think it’s pretty handy. Their main focus is on freebies sent in the mail, no strings attached. A neat thing they do on this site is a weekly “mail call” where they show all the freebies they received in the mail that week. Sometimes it is amazing what all they are able to score, without spending a dime. Personally, I like to hold out for the the magazine subscriptions to my favorite reads, full-size beauty products and coupons for completely free food items (usually for a new product that is coming out).
This site is a bit different than the ones listed above in that they aren’t posting as much about specific deals, but more about ways to save or make money in general. For example, they have done posts titled Have a Costco or Sam’s Club Membership? Here’s How to Get Your Money’s Worth and 32 Legitimate Ways to Make Money at Home. There is a lot of interesting content on their page. I highly recommend checking it out.
This is the newest deal site I’ve come across, and I really like it’s model. The main purpose of the site is help users find promo codes online. This is where you would go when you have made it all the way to the checkout page and see that empty promo code box staring back at you. How many times do you try a few codes you’ve found online (have none of them work) and then just give up?
How Dealspotr is different is their deals are all crowdsourced, and in order to post a deal on their site, you have to validate it. For example, if I were to find a deal and want to share it, I would have to go as far as uploading a screenshot of it working to prove that it is valid. This helps the deals stay up to date and ACCURATE, which is really what we all want as shoppers!
A few things to watch out for with these types of sites:
- There is a LOT of information on these sites, and honestly, 80% of it is not going to be relevant to the average person and their needs at the time. You have to be willing to scroll through some of the clutter to find the really good deals that make sense for you where you are in life.
- Don’t buy things you don’t need, just because it is a phenomenal deal. Doing so is the exact opposite of saving $$$!
- The sites are usually pretty good about laying out the details of different deals, but make sure to read the fine print before giving any personal information/signing up for anything. Many offers out there come with a monthly subscription service or some other kind of catch, that might make it not worth your while in the long run.
And if you are not already taking advantage of Ebates, read my post here on why this is the best source of easy passive income on online shopping!
Hope these sites help you save a dollar or two!
I too love the thrill of a deal !
Keep the great ideas coming !
