Amy Osborne Photography gifted this session to my family in exchange for a detailed and honest review on my blog. As always, all opinions are my own.

We used Amy Osborne Photography for Jacob’s six month or “sitter” milestone photos. I think photos at every child’s age are special, but this age is the cutest in my opinion. I love that they are able to sit up on their own, stand with a little bit of help and are usually full of smiles. It makes for really great photos. It was also a treat to get some snapshots with Adeline (2.5 years old) as well, and even a few sweet ones of the three of us together.

Shooting with Amy Osborne
Amy was a dream to work with! Her photos obviously speak to her talent as a photographer, but she is great on the personal side too. As a mother of five, she has honed her patience with toddlers and fussy babies. And as a mother of an emotional toddler, its nice to not feel like you are being judged during your session when you toddler is struggling to cooperate.

In those instances, Amy seamlessly shifted gears to taking photos of just Jacob until Adeline was ready to come back and be part of the action. I really appreciated this quality of hers.

The Studio
Amy’s studio and the property it sits on is gorgeous! She has a large lot in a small little community in Tomball. The studio is great because it allows for a controlled environment, no concerns over the weather and consistent lighting. But the area around her house is also literally picture perfect. She has her own pond on the property and there is a private field just 10 minutes away.

Amy offers outdoor sessions September through April and studio sessions year round. Amy offers complimentary consultations for you to come to the studio to meet her, see the space and ask any questions before scheduling.

The Wardrobe
Amy’s in-studio wardrobe is AMAZING! Not only has she hand selected some absolutely beautiful, luxe pieces, she has also already put the effort in to make sure everything looks good together. Deciding what my family should wear is one of the most daunting parts of getting photos taken for me, so this was truly a treat. She has pieces for women and children.

I loved the dress I wore for the photos, and I know I probably wouldn’t have gone out and purchased something that high end for this one purpose. I see this as money you can put toward the photos! She also has different props you can choose from as well, like the baby carriage Adeline is pushing in the photo below. Seriously, her studio has everything you need for beautiful photos!

The Ordering and Design Process
Another area where Amy Osborne stands out, in my opinion, is the ordering and design consultation she offers. She brings you back in studio and has you look through prints of all your images. Something about holding the pictures in your hands and seeing them on physical paper is really special. I felt like it was easier to sort through and choose my favorites having them printed out.

The purpose of this meeting is to design framed art pieces and/or an album, if that is what you choose to do. I want to note that I didn’t feel rushed or pressured during this process. Amy was there to guide me through the process and help me talk through my ideas. I did ask for her expert advice a few times, but never felt that she pushed her opinions on me in any way.

I decided on a beautiful silver framed photo of Jacob and two prints for a gallery wall I’m working on. I cannot wait to get them hung on my walls!

Displaying Photos
Framing: Amy has different frames to choose from, and can do just about any size you would like. She hand frames each piece, so you know it will be put together with the utmost care. All artwork is heirloom quality, meaning it’s something to proudly display and enjoy while also knowing that it will last for generations. The acrylic in the frames is shatterproof and UV coated to protect it from the sun.
Albums: There are many album options as well. This is a good option if you just cannot choose one or two photos, because you can add as many as you like! You get to choose from many different album coverings (leather, linen or velvet) and you can emboss names or logos into the album cover.
Digitals: Digital files are available and are discounted when purchasing artwork.

Investment
Photos are always a good investment in my opinion. I’m always so happy I had them done and feel like they are worth penny! You can see more on Amy’s packages here.

Amy also has a membership plan, which I think is a something to consider if you are planning to have multiple photos taken over a set time span! Amy offers this plan to baby clients or those wanting to document a season with multiple sessions in 18 months. The membership plan offers discounts plus and special perks only available to members. Payment plans are available.
