Marcus and I have had such a special last couple of weeks celebrating the upcoming arrival of our little girl. We have had a handful of baby showers (with one more to go!) and are feeling so very loved. Here are a few of my favorite details and memories from the events – there are some great ideas in here for anyone planning a baby shower in the near future!
At our San Antonio shower, Marcus got a tool bag that said “Daddy’s Little Project” on it, complete with goggles, gloves, a face mask, baby wipes, tongs for dirty diapers and all other sorts of new dad essentials. It was an adorable gift that made all the ladies crack up!
I have some pretty amazing coworkers that pulled together the sweetest shower for our baby girl, especially considering their backdrop was a run-of-the-mill conference room.
They used baby books with just some simple tissue paper for the centerpieces, which is so simple but turned out really cute. On the other tables they had these cute little diaper cakes with balloons.
I’m afraid I’m not going to want to take them apart when it comes time for me to use the diapers!
My favorite thing about our shower in Sugar Land was the theme – “She’s about to Pop!” They seriously went all out and every detail was thought out from the invitations, to the specific food that was served to the games and even the favors.
They had the most adorable painted sugar cookies from The Sweet Tooth Bakery in Rosenberg, TX – which were actually soft and so good (I feel like usually the cuter the sugar cookie, the harder and worse tasting it is, but that was not the case for these!).
My mom really has an eye for design and made the ribbon banner on the mantle for our window in the nursery. I think it is absolutely beautiful and can’t wait to get hang it up in our little girl’s room.
A really special touch was before we started opening gifts, my sister passed around different scripture that pertained to parenting, children, family and little girls. Different women around the room read the scripture out loud and Shannon closed by praying over us and our growing family. It was so heartfelt and probably my favorite part of the afternoon. Most of the people in the room shed a couple happy tears (myself included!).
And lastly, no Sugar Land party would be complete without some photo booth fun. Here are some of my favorite ladies (including our sweet hostesses!).
Cheers to a baby girl and all the fun that she will bring!
