Marcus and I had our first weekend away from Adeline last month, and although we missed her like crazy, I think it was a really good thing for all three of us. (Huge shoutout to FaceTime – not sure we could have done the trip without it!).
We had the opportunity to go to Vail, Colorado for our friends’ wedding and WOW, what a gorgeous place to get married. The ceremony and reception were both at Piney River Ranch at Piney Lake. You had to take a ride up the mountain, but the view and vibe the venue offered was 100% worth it. I mean, how about this for a wedding backdrop?
We made multiple trips over to Vail Village throughout the weekend. There are so many restaurants and cute shops to wander in and out of. This was my favorite building – are those flower boxes amazing or what?
We happened across a unique little florist/boutique called A Secret Garden, where I found a necklace I decided deserved a spot in my jewelry collection. My favorite “souvenir” to look for when I travel is jewelry. If I ever get a compliment on the piece, it’s fun to share where I found it and reminisce about my trip. The necklace below is made by local designer, Passion for Vintage.
We ate some great food throughout the weekend, too. One of our favorites was Big Bear Bistro. It is in Vail Village, had a solid breakfast and the was patio just dripping in flowers. How about those blue skies?
On Saturday we ventured over to Breckenridge, and although we got hailed on briefly (no joke!), the lunch we found at Northside Pizza was worth it. I think the photo will do all the talking here.
September was an amazing time to be in Colorado, and this was the perfect break from the hot summer we’ve had in Houston. I’m so thankful we were able to sneak away for a few days to celebrate our friends getting married and recharge a little bit. Parents’ first getaway was a win!
Everytime I look at that pizza pic it makes me hungry! NOM NOM!
So dang delicious!
Y’all are so cute! Vail is on my list of places to go and your pictures just made me want to jump on a plane NOW. 🙂
It was so beautiful! Highly recommend 🙂
